Laura Gates
Board Member 2018 – Present
Laura Gates is a community leader and philanthropist. She is former Vice President of Museum Affairs at the Field Museum and a former partner of McKinsey & Company. She is immediate past Chair of the Board of Trustees of Wellesley College and a past president of the Alumnae Association.
She is the incoming Chair of the SELC/Southern Environmental Law Center. She serves on the boards of the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation and the Preservation Society of Charleston.
Past service includes Chair of the Coastal Conservation League and Chair of the Gibbes Museum of Art. In 2017 she received the James Shoolbred Gibbes Philanthropy Award for leadership during the museum’s campaign and renovation project. In Chicago, she served on the boards of Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Chicago Wilderness Magazine.
Laura received her BA in Economics from Wellesley College and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University.
