Be a part of telling our American stories
The National Archives holds over 40 billion records, each with its own story to tell. Yet, a vast amount of America’s story—our story—remains to be discovered.
Today, Americans’ knowledge of U.S. history and civics is declining. But as the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence approaches in 2026, there’s never been a better moment to turn the page and connect more Americans to our national narrative.
One Nation, Many Stories—the Campaign for the National Archives—seeks to bring more Americans, of all ages and backgrounds, into the pages of history to examine the stories that have shaped us as a nation. These stories, found at the National Archives, uniquely connect us to our past and present, our shared histories and diversity, and our quest for a more perfect Union. By sharing these stories, we will reflect on and engage with moments throughout American history that teach us, inspire us, and help us build toward a bright future for our democracy.
Your support is crucial to this mission, allowing us to engage as many citizens as possible through events, exhibitions, and educational initiatives. Give to the One Nation, Many Stories Campaign to build curiosity about our nation’s past and excitement for our shared future.
