While there’s no air in the case that stores the U.S. Constitution (in fact, it’s inert argon gas), love is certainly in the air at the Archives! The tradition of Valentine’s Day can be traced back hundreds of years, and in the U.S. it gained popularity in the nineteenth century as a card-giving exchange with loved ones. In the spirit of this affectionate holiday, we turn to some sweet presidential records from America’s First Couples.
