James W. Cicconi

Jim Cicconi is the former Senior Executive Vice President of External and Legislative Affairs at AT&T. He was responsible for the company’s global public policy organization and the AT&T Foundation.
Prior to joining AT&T, he was a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. Jim also served in the White House under two presidents, as deputy chief of staff to President George H.W. Bush, and as special assistant to President Ronald Reagan. He currently serves as vice president of the George and Barbara Bush Foundation and is a member of the Presidential Leadership Scholars Advisory Committee and the University of Texas at Austin Development Board. He has served as a presidential appointee to the UNESCO Review Advisory Committee and to the Administrative Conference of the United States.
He earned a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and JD from the University of Texas School of Law. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the State Bar of Texas.
