Spycraft: A Conversation with Author Robert Wallace
  • Date: Monday, July 25, 2022
  • Time: 3:00 pm
  • Location: Online

Join the Chair and President of the National Archives Foundation, Governor James J. Blanchard in conversation with author Robert Wallace. Wallace, a retired senior intelligence officer, is the author of five books on American intelligence history. His perspective on spying from the Revolutionary War to the 21st century, reveals the often overlooked role of advanced technology in agent operations and the surprising places, people and special “gadgets” at the heart of clandestine operations.

His first book, Nine from the Ninth, is a memoir of his 1969 assignment to Company E, 75th Infantry (Rangers) Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol company in Vietnam. This was followed by SPYCRAFT: The Secret History of the CIA Spytechs from Communism to al-Qaeda, The Official CIA Manual of Trickery and Deception and most recently a three-book Spy Sites series describing two centuries of spying in Washington, New York, and Philadelphia.
