Seas of Knowledge: Transforming the Future of Climate Science with Historic U.S. Navy Logbooks

Join the National Archives Foundation and Kevin Wood, a historical climatologist at the University of Washington and NOAA, and his colleagues Dr. Philip Brohan, climate scientist at the UK Met Office, and Michael Purves, citizen-scientist (and retired meteorologist in Canada) as they reveal how 150-year-old U.S Navy logbooks found in the Archives are transforming climate science and allowing us to foresee future dangers and opportunities. The program will preview new videos, weather visualizations, and classroom activities and resources for teachers. Program begins at 5:00 p.m. ET.
